The same and different, author Llilli Koci is a stratified narrative about the coexistence of diverse nations on one area that have the same but also somewhat different historic experiences in their long–lasting coexistence. The area is not marked only by their national, but also their religious and language differences, customary law and legislature, cultural heritage and especially political attempts in solving mutual problems violently. The outline of the novel is situated in the federal countries of former Yugoslavia's – the first, unitary kingdom and the second one, socialist, federal. The main places in the story are Pejë in Kosovo, Zagreb in Croatia and Belgrade and Zemun in Serbia.
